Re: C-3PO head rebuild
The sharpening of the cheeks is an interesting choice. What are you using for reference?

Re: C-3PO head rebuild
Well to be honest they are not completed yet the ones on the right if the photos, the details in the ordinal lids would have been very shape as can been seen in various shots something I find is lost in the lids available all bar the fibreglass ones. My friend who is a sculpter made the one on the left and I love the detail but the forehead is to big which was intended to make the helmet more roomy but I went for the styrine one instead and used ref pictures below and the lid on the right..
Any advice is always welcome lol

Re: C-3PO head rebuild
The cheeks aren't sharp. It's a trick of the reflections. Same thing happens to the nose, which is rounded on the front and not sharp.
My helmet is a close relative to a movie helmet and has really good detail. It gives the same "sharp" effect when the lighting is right but the cheeks are definitely rounded.
Without the reflective metalic layer it's really easy to see. I'll look for some photos of it with just primer after work today.
K3PO is a really good example because he's not mirror reflective. There are more pictures of him online but you'll have to search around a bit.

Re: C-3PO head rebuild
My Zorg heads in primer smooth cheeks .
Same heads Metalized.
And with some weathering
The sharp cheeks are as stated a trick with the changing angles all soft transitions .

Re: C-3PO head rebuild
Yes I totally see what you guys are saying and mine are way to sharp so much so if it was plated like that you could cut your Sunday roast with it lol like I said tho it's not complete iv loads more sanding and still learning the art of that lol and will soften all this parts in question.
A question for all of you that have lids done already ... Is there any pictures of styrine lids that have been painted/plated without any mods done to them , as I no a lot of people tend to sharpen the detail lost in the process of making them, would be nice to see one for a comparison.. Thanks for the advice guys I will post pictures of the lid when I'm close to getting it something like ...
