Well, after a long time of watching on this forum and being on other forums, I can finally say that I am getting very close to getting a lifesize C-3PO. I just recently purchased a casting of a Don Post C-3PO statue from a member on the RPF and am eagerly waiting for it to arrive. I think it will go very well with my Threepio head I got last year.

So I will start by showing my Threepio head:

These are pictures of my Threepio head taken back in January which I posted then on the RPF. These were obviously taken before I put the eyes in. I just realized that I never took any pics of mine with the eyes in, once I pull it out of the box it is safely packed in I'll take some new pics.

Now these pics are of the one I made for my friend:

Both of these heads are roto-cast one piece hollow resin heads made by a guy named Dishman. I think they look great! emoticon

It is amazing how they look a lot different depending on the lighting and angle of the photos. They both are exactly the same and are tinted the same color. I did the eyes using TK-409's tutorial as I did not want to use LED's as the originals were not done that way.

Once I get the body and get going on it, I will be posting updates until I am done.

Thanks for looking!

JD

Thanks DB73. I would like to see pics of your progress as well.

Damn, I want my 3PO. It sucks it is sitting in a warehouse just an hour drive away. emoticon

I plan on cutting out the mid section of the casting on mine and doing my own belly area with the rubber mat and wires. Might possibly remove the feet from the legs as well and re-pose his stance. Not sure as I can't tell how much work that will involve until I get it.
