Hi Guys,
I've put together a tutorial about how I built my Threepio kit. I know kits differ but you may get some tips from my experiences.

Hi, thanks guys!
The kit was Fanta Chromed. I did spray the hand pieces with Plasticote Metalic paint. The shot of both the feet together are actually a spare pair which have been sprayed with Plasticote.
I did the hand plates separately as I knew they'd be getting scratched on the ends of the arms when wearing. Plasticote on its own scratched very easily but when sealed looks awful so I went for a trade off and used plasticote acrylic on it. It still keeps some of it's reflectivity and gets a high gloss too. This made the plates much tougher although I don't think I'd do a whole suit using this method.
