ICAP event london
Hi Guys,
Just wanted to share some pics with you! I've just done a major charity event with the UK Garrison with a company in the heart of the financial sector of London. They all go mad for one day of the year, come to work in fancy dress, drink wine and give up their commissions for charity.
It's all that kind of 'buy buy buy, sell sell sell' scenario, big money!!!
Anyway, british celebrities came and went throughout the day helping raise money over the phones. R2 & I were in the reception area all day while Troopers and Vader wandered around the building.
It was a really good day and very surreal. Also the longest I've been in costume to date, we kitted up for press photos at 7am and finished at 4pm. I only got fully out of gear twice for half an hour during the day.
can't walk today and I'll not go into the blisters!!!!
Not as glamorous a day as Chris' recent announcement (way to go Chris) but a great day nonetheless. Stars that were there during the day included:
Prince Harry
Nigel Havers
Duncan Bannatyne
Anthony Daniels
Gail Porter
Patrick Stuart
Dani Bear
Abi Titmass
Richard Wilson
Greg Rezetski
Jennifer Saunders
Gladstone Small
Kate Humble
Sophi Ellis Bexter
Dennis Waterman
Prunella Scales
the list goes on!

Fantastic photos Andy! That 3rd one of you and R2 looks awesome. Your chrome is really holding up well. What was your interaction with Tony like? Did you get to talk with him at all?

Re: ICAP event london
Hi Guys,
AD was actually very nice during his visit. I've never had any problems with him, I always take a back seat in costume when he's about and go for photos with him if he requests it. I hate doing the voice when he's there too so I'm usually pretty quiet.
When he left, he made a point of saying goodbye and there were no cameras or press around which I thought was nice of him.
Yes Chris, I'm really impressed with the Fantachrome job, it's holding up remarkably well, there are still no major 'flake offs' as yet and it's had a bit of a hammering to date. I do think that gold fairing trim really helps to stop it begining in the first place and strategically placing cloth and foam inside the suit helps too.
Cheers guys, lets keep Threepio alive worldwide!
Andy
PS, found out today ICAP made 11million GBP for charity and gave medicinema £600,000 which is way more than enough for a cinema install within a London hospital and have change to spare! makes it all worthwhile doesn't it.
