Re: Introduce Yourself!
My name is Mike Johnson I'm a member of the 501st Legion Neon City Garrison in Las Vegas. I'm also a member of the R2 Builders club and have a finished R2D2. I'm the Director of Surveillance at a hotel casino on the Las Vegas strip. Last year I started to work on losing weight and have gone from 242 pounds to 165 pounds with my final goal being 150-155 pounds. After receiving support from the wife I decided to do a 3PO costume. My eyes are sore from all the reading.

Re: Introduce Yourself!
Hi!
I'm Sarah, kinda new to all this but 'trying my best so please be patient'!!
I've been a Star Wars fan for a long time!! and have collected (too much) memorabilia for over 35 years.
I've always admired the work of some of you guys and feel now is the time 'have a go' myself
I've been contemplating building my own protocol droid for far too long and acquired a couple of 3po bits over the years.
So this small project is to make a TC14, fingers crossed I can achieve something fun and quite smashing
Thanks for all the contributions on here already they have been invaluable!
My blog is here http://sarahtc14.blogspot.co.uk/
Let me know what you think so far!
Oh and I may be a bit cheeky and start asking for advice!

Re: Introduce Yourself!
Hi,
My name is Francisco. I'm a member of the Southern California Garrison of the 501st. I'm fairly new to the Star Wars costuming hobby but have jumped right in. I finished a TK in April and am itching to build something else. I'm an architect so I've always enjoyed making things. I know very little about protocol droids and look forward to learning all about them.
I'm 5-11 and 170lbs atm, but plan to slim down. My chest size is 41" so it looks like I barely fit. My waist is 32-33.
Any pointers and info appreciated.
Regards,
Francisco

Re: Introduce Yourself!
Hello everyone,
My name is Chase. I'm 19, born and raised in Central Florida. I currently do a 104th Wolfpack clone from the clone wars. After trooping with Gordon Tarpley a couple of times I noticed we were both the same height, and build. So now I have the bug to do C3PO, as well as 4LOM. This will be a long project as i plan on joining the air force by the end of this year. Hopefully after basic training, and technical school I don't gain too much weight and I can slowly build these projects. I'm currently 5' 10", and 145lbs. My only problem is the head. I tried on Gordon's Zorg face piece and it was a little too tight (probably a quater inch). I just ordered one of Jim Sleeth's vacuum formed head kits, and hoping it fits. If it doesn't fit I'll have a nice display piece. Anyway, I'm doing my reading/researching, and slowly making my way down the protocol path. Hopefully, I can one day join the ranks of the C3PO's.

Re: Introduce Yourself!
Hi Guys,
I just thought I'd pop in and say hi!
My name is Mark and I am in the UK. I also run CFO Cast From Original and make and sell replica props including ROTJ TK armour, Indiana Jones Ark Cherubs, Idols, V for Vendetta mask and many other bits n pieces.
Some of you may know me from other forums like the FISD, TheRPF, Propden, TDH, MEPD,BS.net etc, etc......
I have always wanted a C3PO droid and one day I'm sure I will...... I only have one PO piece in my collection and that is a Brass helmet I bought from a guy in Thailand. There were only 5 made and it is cast in heavy Brass. I love it. Whether it's totally accurate or not I don't know but it looks and feels like it fell off a real Protocol droid.
Some of my other props I make and sell past and present....
CFO ROTJ TK
Hellboy
Ark Angels/Cherubs.

Re: Introduce Yourself!
Incidentally, I get all my props that are plated done at VMC down the road from me and they plated C3PO for ANH. They also plated the idols for Indy........

Re: Introduce Yourself!
Hello, I'm Scott from Australia! I'm currently working on a TD set of armour. I'm a huge Star Wars fan, so I'm thinking of doing a C3PO as my second costume.
I'm aprox 182cm tall and weight about 70kgs. (I'm quite thin, but still not that old might bulk up in a year or so)
Can I pull off a C3PO?
I haven't done much research, but I know the suit is very specific to Anthony Daniels body size.
Thanks, this little forum looks like a very good resource.

Re: Introduce Yourself!
Hello all, I'm very excited to work on my first protocol droid costume. I'm going to sidestep the metallization headaches since this will be my first attempt and go for K-3PO instead of C-3PO. I'm very interested in joining my local chapter of The Rebel Legion. I think the work they do at conventions and for children and special events is both fun and very important.
I've been looking on this board and on other sources for information about cost and process, both look to be very helpful and I don't think I'll have any problems being successful. Thanks for everyones hard work so that attempting to make one of these suits doesn't have to look so daunting!
Hope to make some new friends here too!
