The plan is to troop super shin to start with then switch to weathered [sign in to see URL] is still a little way to go yet as i have not made any strapping or belly wrap.

OMG, That is so awesome!! emoticon

What I love with c3po-building must be looking at the before-and-after metallizing pictures. There is so much difference between these two stages!

Congratulations! May I ask you if you used vacuum metallizing or spray chroming? emoticon emoticon

Stuka very nice job. You should be very proud of your work. I have a question about the shoulder rings. I noticed they are smooth, why is that? And if you get a chance can you please post something about how you finished the shoulder rings? Did you get them to move? Thanks so much.

Thanks guys, means alot and a big thanks for all the ideas and thoughts that have been shared here.

Chris Bartlett has made things posible with the hard parts of the droid.I have gathered many parts from all over the globe, lots of the time being in the right forum just when someone is selling some of their unwanted bits.

The gold has been Vac metalized here in the UK by the same company that did the original suits, they also re-did the hands and feet for the Currys advert that ran last year.

The company is called VMC limited ]Click to visit internet site. They were so,so helpful and have taken pictures of this suit and the process it went through (will post them when i get them).

The shoulder rings do spin with the shoulder bells and i have fixed them like the originals, one on the front torso and one on the [sign in to see URL] make my design work i cut off the lip on the opposite sides of the fixed bells so that they can slid into position.

I am sorry i have not taken any pictures of the design as yet and apologise if this is holding you [sign in to see URL] you can see i have been bussy getting this done .(i promise i will take pictures and make a little video of the shoulders this week.

You can see that the rings are smooth ,as they were in ANH version of the droid.

I used the suplied ring and clad it with a strip of plastic.

Thank you again guys and like i said i will break down the build and show how i did things.

Great job on the rings! I never noticed the non-ribbed shoulder rings before, however, I know that they used like a disc/spring system to allow for 'bending'/raising the arms upwards.

I can imagine being able to move your arms with your system must be a huge advantage during appearances. Maybe we'll see a few videos of you suited up in the near future? emoticon emoticon
