Re: C-3PO head rebuild
Ok, onto the eyes, I am hoping to use these reflectors to cast up a nice ANH style version. The inner piece has a nice detail but because I have to cut the outer edges down I may add a flat egde detail if I cast it up.
I have tweaked the eye area, the eyebrows slightly again and the nose ... again.

Re: C-3PO head rebuild
Really great work!
I'm sure there are people who can't fit into any of the existing heads that would love a copy of that.
I'm super impressed that you made so much more room without deforming the helmet. Detail and finish are beautiful. Looks fantastic!

Re: C-3PO head rebuild
Really amazing work, Forest! Love the progress pics, it's like you're actually watching a factory worker at Cybot Galactica finalizing a prototype.

Re: C-3PO head rebuild
Nice work buddy iv bought the larger styrine lid fits great and now iv got to sharpen the detail lines =( did you do the nose and eyebrows... Iv had a larger fibreglass lid made and it fits really with plenty space but its quite heavy hence the new styrine one.. Here's some pictures of my fibreglass one the lines are spot on
The gap near the crown/halo is where the neck collar is pushing it out as not fitted brass bits yet,

Re: C-3PO head rebuild
That was the version I had , the larger styrene head. This is now much bigger, higher , wider and longer in the jaw. All vacformed heads are lacking any great sharpness although they are nice and light.
Still intending to get a mold of this and make it in a lightly layered gelcoat /fibreglass for costuming.
I think your head sculpt is really nice.

Re: C-3PO head rebuild
Darthpedge those are interesting mods. Are you going for more of the comic style look?
