Re: Introduce Yourself!

Thanks guys for the welcome.

Currently doing my research (which amounts to a lot of reading) and just getting myself orientated on the board. I’m looking at doing a Return of the Sith C3PO.

At the moment I am trying to create a purchasing list of the
· Fibreglass Parts
· ABS Parts
· Brass Upgrade Parts (might as well start with them)
that I need to order.

Being from Australia, I am also currently looking at what is required to get the Chroming done here locally.

Re: Introduce Yourself!

ImageHi, I'm Steve Lieberman and a member of the 501st Golden Gate Garrison and MEPD as a Sandtrooper. I want to try another build. My group consits mostly of Stormtroopers, Clones, and Fetts. I want to do something different. a few of my friends have R2 units, so I think I'm going to embarck on building a 3PO. I have no idea where to really start. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. I'll be looking at the parts for sell and other post to try and figure out where to start.

Re: Introduce Yourself!

Hello everyone,
my name is John, from Northern Ireland, TK 4595/Lonewolf on some other forums. I have a few costumes, shiney Stormtrooper, Biker Scout, X Wing Pilot,V from V for Vendetta and Capt. Jack Sparrow.
I have been lurking on these great boards for a long time, just never joined.
I met Anthony Daniels in Dublin a couple of years ago, his only comment to me[while I stood in my Biker Scout costume] was that he "always loved the Forest Troopers" hence the forum name.
I am sourcing Droid parts now, whether or not I even have a costume or a display is still to be decided!
 Thanks for reading the ramblings.

Hello C-3PO Builders,
My name is Dana Powers and I first built an R2-D2 in 2008. He needs his counterpart so that's why I am here. I live in New Hampshire and have 5 kids. My website is www.R2-D2Builder.com which documents my adventures with Jedi Jesse.

I'm from NH as well! My name is Drew from the New England Garrison, and I am working on a TX. However, I want to go with a different direction, and make a Threepio for my garrison.

I'm not 100% on doing the costume, but I am doing research. I'm looking to not go over $1200, so Fiberglass is out, but I don't know the prices of the ABS parts. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Hi there welcome to our c-3po builders.I've been warned to stay away from abs c-3po parts.I've seen other c-3po in abs, there ok but fiberglass is the only way togo. that's the way I've gone.it's more expensive from fiberglass but it's worth every penny. chris has stopped taking orders for the time being.

Re: Introduce Yourself!

Hi everyone, I'm Garth from Canada.

I've always loved C-3PO and am hoping this site will give me the drive to finally build a wearable costume.

I currently have a Stormtrooper, Tusken Raider, and just finished a Pre Vizsla costume. I'm hoping all the skills used to build those costumes will translate over to this build.

I haven't worked with fibreglass much, more of an ABS and styrene kind of guy, but I'm always open to trying new materials and methods.

As with many other members on here I am researching 3PO parts (ABS vs fibreglass) and am hoping I can start piecing together a costume soon.

Can't wait to get started!

Hello everyone! My name is Jon ...I'm as newbie as a newbie can be... I have always desired to put together a 3po suit, but havent ever dove into it for financial reasons. Good news: i now have finances emoticon and wife approval

I am a former funeral director/mortician in indianapolis, currently in software testing and plan on devoting alot of summer time to creating a suit. I greatly appreciate the forum here for those equally interested and those who are knowledgable.

Looking through the tutorials are great... I am hopeful to find a way to soon acquire the full parts needed to get started...

I kindly ask for assistance in the "finding"

Cheers,
jon
