Re: Introduce Yourself!
Hello All,
My name is Julie. I live in Texas and am wanting to start a C3PO costume to go to events with my husband and his R2 unit. Any advice would be great. I make costumes for family and friends. I made my husband's Jedi Costume and will be starting a Darth Maul this year for a friend's husband. Sewing I got that down. This is a new one me to make a C3po wearable unit.

Re: Introduce Yourself!
Hi There!
Im new here, so I thought I would just say say hello.
I'm relatively new to the world of costuming; I built a TK last year, joined the 501st (New England Garrison), and instantly got addicted! I'm currently building a Sandtrooper for myself and a Jawa for my son. I'm a skinny guy, so I thought a Threepio would be the perfect next costume for me. I'm currently looking for a "Newbies, Start Here and Read This First" type thread. If you know of one, please let me know! ;-)
I look forward to pestering all of you with lots of stupid questions in the coming weeks! Let me thank you now, in advance, for your patience and support.
-Tim

Re: Introduce Yourself!
Hi All;
Here's a short introduction of me;
I'm David, I live in the Netherlands and I am 40 years old.
In the past I have build a wearable Cylon centurian helmet from battlestar galactica and a full scale C3PO head. I have sold both of them.
Now I'm starting a new build for a be-headed and framed C3PO head as he is easier to keep around when he's hanging on a wall opposed to taking up a lot of (shelf) space.
I'm planning to make him semi-gold, not 100% buffed up and not completely dull, but somewhere in between.
I'm very lucky to have 3D printers on which I made a lot of parts for him already.
I will start a post soon with the pictures and update of all parts and progress.
Cheerio,

Re: Introduce Yourself!
Hey guys!
My name is Chris Sievers. I'm 43, married with grown children and I live in coastal Virginia. I have been scouring this group along with the 501st just looking for that right costume to make and I kept coming back to C3PO. Since I am brand new, my fear is that I am aiming too high for my first suit. It looks complex and a little pricey but I can't help myself! I'm looking forward to getting to know you all and working with you!

Re: Introduce Yourself!
Hi,
I'm a veteran costumer having been a member of the 501st and the Mando Mercs for several years. Following C7 (which was awesome) I've decided to descend into madness and build a protocol droid (already aptly named by my wife M4N-D0). So HELP! I have no real idea of where to begin, getting parts, etc. any help would be appreciated...

Re: Introduce Yourself!
Hello Everybody,
My name is Chase. I've wanted to build a C3PO for a very long time now. Adn got even more motivated when I met Gordon Tarpley and we were the same size and weight. Once I knew I could fit in C3PO I wanted it even more. I've always been on the lookout for a TK 409 kit for a while and I finally found one on the RPF and was lucky enough to get it. Even better it had an machined aluminum upgrade on the pistons and detail pieces. My goal is to get it done in time for Celebration London. Can't wait to get this done! Here's some pics of the kit.

Re: Introduce Yourself!
Hi All,
I'm Carlos. I'm new to this board having only found it pretty recently. Have been a long time reader if therpf though. I am a sculptor, making my own work but a couple of years ago I got the idea to make myself a storm trooper helmet. I ended up making one for myself, my brother and my daughter. Loved making them!
Now I'm planning to make my own sculpt of 3po's head, hopefully wearable. Mostly it will be a challenge just to see if I can do it. I'm entering the 'courage gathering' stage, having already made a duct tape mold of my head for building on.
Here we go!
Ps this is my first board I've joined (in 46 yrs!). Nice to be here.

Re: Introduce Yourself!
Hi, I'm Jason from London UK
I'm almost finished building an all metal R2D2 and I've been inspired to build a protocol droid suit.
I am planning on building a modified version possibly in black.
