Re: Calf area

I thought there was a thread about it around here someplace but I'm not having much luck finding it. I'll get some current photos of my setup after work today.

Here are a few from earlier in the process, before everything was fully fastened down.

The hinge I used was a long, continuous hinge

I cut the hinge down into small pieces.

The movie suits use multiple sets of hinges but I used one longer strip on each side with no problems.

I used hot glue to place them and make sure the worked properly. Then I drilled holes for the screws.
Next I took the hinges off, pulled off the hotglue and applied J.B. Weld and screwed them down

I'll get more photos or make you a short video shortly and edit this post. Hopefully this will help you get a bit further along.

Re: Calf area

My calves have small hinges in one side spaced so the leg can swing open despite the curve, and the other side has the hinges but with a removable pin very much like what Gordon shows in his photos. Simple manuver to line up the hinges and drop the pin in to close the leg.

Re: Calf area

Don Bies did that on the originals too. Glued the hinges, screwed them, cut off the pointy part, dremeled and filled the holes.
