Re: Introduce Yourself!
Greetings C-3PO builders...
Name: Christopher Doyle
Nationality: Canadian
Place of residence: Luxembourg
Present costumes: Scout Trooper (501st approved)
In progress: Boba Fett
My next 'project' I would like it to be C-3PO as I think I can fit the build (5'11" 148lbs) and am willing to 'suffer' it during 'cosplay' (I also race Ironmans ha ha).
Anyway I am really keen on this. I think kids (of all ages) will really love a C-3PO around here so I hope I can make this a reality ('where there's a will there's a way' I always say).
It seems that 3D printing (on your own or 3rd party) can make this a reasonable possibility. I will be looking through the board for links to files and opinions and I hope corresponding photos.
Thanks for creating and maintaining this board and good luck to all in their builds.
Chris

Re: Introduce Yourself!
Hi all,
My name is Ali and I just completed a 3d printed build of C3PO's head. This build was to create a talking C3PO head to be used to recreate the scene in The Empire Strikes Back when Chewy is reassembling C3PO. Here are some pictures:
A larger shot of the head is here:

More details and instructions on how to build are here:

I'd love to get any feedback people have!
Thanks,
Ali

Re: Introduce Yourself!
Howdy, from Binghamton!
My local clan of Jawas is growing... and I'm looking for Protocol Droid STL files so I can print out some body parts. We go to a lot of conventions and other events to entertain child and adult fans of Star Wars. We figure if we looked like we just raided a Droid Factory, if might get the kids going. Thanks for any help people may have.

Re: Introduce Yourself!
Hey all from Southern California. I plan to build a 3d printed C3P0 suit over the next year, and hopefully document the process. I have a background in visual effects production and 3d modeling. My hope if to find a good model to start from and them modify it to add detail, accuracy and get the right fit.
Anyway, It's great to see a community like this exists. Happy Building!

Glouton
Hello everyone, I call myself Glutton I'm 40 years old I live in the var and I'm a dad of 2 little Jedi 4 and 6 years. I am webmaster and Android App Designer graduate in engineering networks of retired profession passionate about cinemas (so the cult movie StarWars that has accompanied me all my life), electronics, robotics but without ever having had rental practice. My kids are melted from StarWars and especially robotics to the bigger one in particular, so I figured it would be time for me to move from the idea of passion to practice and why do it better than doing a project with my children. So initially we had to embark on the creation of the robot InMoov and looking on the internet for information I came across a post FB who talk about you! Of course I was eager to talk about it with my little ones and obviously it did not take 1 min for my son to tell me that InMoov is cool, but D2R2 it tears (such are these words ^^). So here I am in writing my presentation hoping that I would find all the necessary support but also all documentation and design files so that we can also be part of the R2Builders who own our droid. Hardware side I discovered the Arduino 2 months ago so I immediately started to buy all the equipment to start to make the hand and here I just ordered my first 3D printer I opt for a TEVO TORNADO . Thanking you in advance for all the support you can give us. Thank you and thank you for welcoming us to your community.
