This is not the suit I costume in, but these parts are taken from the same kit. I tried to arrange the parts the same way as they did on Chewie's back in ESB, but it would look better being worn by a Wookiee or dragged along the floor by R2. The right arm is suspended inside so it can be puppeteered using a string like they did in some shots for ESB. The wires are a combination of motorcycle wiring harnesses, computer monitor and xbox cables. I connected the wires to a pegboard inside the torso with zip ties. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Trooper TK409)Tue, 05 Jun 2007 09:33:51 +0000 Bespin Escape Threepiohttps://bc3pobuilders.runboard.com/p39,from=rss#post39https://bc3pobuilders.runboard.com/p39,from=rss#post39Info provided by our member dan_droidnut Photos here: http://www.jeffcohost.com/~tk409/c3po/fanmade/droidnut/ Rebelscum.com article. A tip to anyone who wants to do something similar; go to a self serve junk yard and cut out some old wire harnesses. Wire harnesses can be expensive so ask someone before you cut, look in cars where the motor is gone, or the wires are already damaged, etc, etc. When you cut a flex tube with wires inside, hot glue one end so all the wires do not fall out. I have some more wires, maybe I can do a photo demo. I mounted all the wires on a board (some around the torso perimeter, I put mesh between these and the core wires) then mounted the board inside the torso, so the wires hang down. I trimmed a board to fit in a level position inside the chest cavity high enough to hide the ends of the hanging wires. I marked where the board goes inside the torso then just above that line I glued blocks with jb weld at 4 “corners”. I was then able to glue or screw the board in place. This main board had two holes for the mounting rods. I made sleeves with pvc pipe to receive the mounting rods. I then made a second slightly smaller board with matching holes. This board has all the hanging wires. I put this board in last and glued blocks to hold it from falling down. Once all that was done I glued some wires and black plastic mesh (distressed with tears and some melting) around the perimeter of the torso in various areas. For the hole, I just cut the hole dress it up with hot glue and then airbrushed it to match the reference photos. I glued some wires from the back side, just for appearance sake. You can’t see anything inside on the movie images. Here's a reference image I composited. I found the same fishnet on ebay for around $25 shipped. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Trooper TK409)Sat, 02 Jun 2007 15:52:46 +0000
