Re: Baxterianism's Build thread
Difficult isn't the word for those areas. I don't have many tips for that other than hard work.
I would double over some of the wet dry paper until I had the right thickness to use is gaps and tear other parts to make shapes that would help.
For sanding and cleaning I did everything under running water. I find a well positioned shower head to be perfect.
Just remember you are going well beyond whats needed for a good finish. Im choosing to do a ROTS look so want as perfect as I can possibly get and I wouldn't feel happy knowing id VM'ed the suit when there was something more I could have done to improve the finish.
The compound I used as a final polish is this:
Farecla G3 'Advanced Liquid Compound' I looked at many similar products by the same company but this is the only amount (500ml/700g) and format they make which is Silicon free.
I used a dot at a time and rubbed it in small circles using tissue then a clean tissue to wipe off. I repeated again and again until I had a near mirror finish.
If you have trouble sourcing this then please feel free to PM me and I will see what I can do. I used about half a bottle on my whole suit.

Re: Baxterianism's Build thread
That is all very helpful information, thanks! I'm planning on going ROTS as well. Though if the opportunity comes up to buy a second right lower leg I might keep a silver leg in reserve for certain events

Re: Baxterianism's Build thread
Is there any chance we could see some of the photos from when you were building? It looks like the website you originally used is no longer an active website. I read through the posts and I'd be really interested in seeing the pictures that went with them.

Nope its not the earring back type details, the quality of the pics isn't great but they are there

I use two brass washers either side. With the washers attached it fills any gap and the brass parts don't move.

I've put done the same but the part holding the brass pistons to the lower arms which slid back and fourth is fiberglass are yours.only some people have put a brass slider in,It would be strong and stop the wobble effect.
