Re: Introduce Yourself!
Hello all,
D-1AH here .. Also known as Tom Schaefer TK-118 of the Midwest Garrison.
I have been a LIFE LONG SW fan and a member of the 501st since 01.
I have a Sandtrooper, Stormtrooper, Tusken, Royal Guard, Tie Pilot and Imperial Crew costumes.
I was on the team "Vader's Foot at the Trooper Olympics both at C3 and C4 and both times we got the silver.
I had wanted to do a 3PO for a very long time, and I have finaly done it!
Sadly, Mine isnt as pretty at Chris's or the other fellow from Cali, But I like mine.
I still have much work to do on it, But I was able to get it close enogh to be able to wear it on the 14th of June for the FIRST TIME for a special VIP party at the Science and Industry Museum in Chicago, And I hope to have it much better before the "Star Wars - Where Science meet Imagination" exhibit opens there in Oct.
So here is my first pics (please be kind, I know I have work to do to it yet.
Side note, The pelvis is a temorary Vac formed one i can use untill I get my Urathane one, The shoes are those rubber ones (THEY ARE SOOOOOO comfortable!) I know they are not 100% accurate, but I like em!
My calfs I had to make about a inch wider at the top to let my big fat legs fit them!
I used that Plasti-kote BRILLIANT metalic paint from the UK on my suit.
THANKS TO CHRIS FOR ALL HIS HELP AND GUIDENCE!

Re: Introduce Yourself!
Hi, everybody! I've been here a while, but since the forum has be "rebooted"(looks great, by the way, Chris, love the new look!) I figured I'd introduce myself. My name is Bill, I live in South Carolina. Currently, I'm a starving artist / mad scientist / jack of all trades. I've been obsessed with robots ever since I can remember. I built an Artoo years ago, he's currently going through a major refit/upgrade. I've got a Threepio I've nearly finished, I'm building the arms from scratch. I've got a few projects I've scratchbuilt, including a life size sculpt of Alice Krige as the Borg Queen from Star Trek. I won a Bronze at Wonderfest and Tom Savinni said he liked it! I'm currently scratchbuilding a replica of V.I.N.CENT., the little robot from the Black Hole. He's been the most difficult robot I've tackled so far because no parts or blueprints were available, so I wound up taking measurements off photos using a few known measurements for scale. Some guys at the RPF gave me some some helpful advice, and one guy, Stonky, helped me a great deal with some shots of a CG V.I.N.CENT. he had been worked on. Here's a few shots of me and some of my work.

V.I.N.CENT. so far...
I've really been blown away by the talent I've seen on this board, it's great to see all these people with the same interests. I envy those of you lucky enough to be able to fit into a Threepio suit!
Bill

Re: Introduce Yourself!
Hey everyone my name is MArshall Peterson, but a lot of people know me as TK-Bear. I have Trooper Armor, a Scout, 1 finished and one in progress R2, as well as my EPII 3PO. I have been a droid builder for 7+ years and a 501st member for 5+
Below is a pic of me in my 3PO along with my R2 at DC last year.
I recently had a kidney transplant though which caused me to miss out on C4 as well as half of DC last year, but I am healther than I have been in years and look forward to costuming it up as EPII 3PO a bunch this year. I hope to see some of you all at DC this year!
BTW I am working on an EPII 3PO tutorial which will be located here. It just has pics right now but It is a work in progress.

Re: Introduce Yourself!
Hi, I am Tim from good old Massachusetts. I am part of the NEG as well currently have just a TK costume (TK3435) and building a snow trooper costume as well.
I am in the process of purchasing a C3PO kit from a friend within the Garrison (Chris you might know John B.). So I am probably going to have a lot of question when I get going and I am looking forward making this happen.

Re: Introduce Yourself!
Hi. Name is Michael. AKA Gypsyboy (but somebody already had that name so I decided to go with my gmail ID). I live in New Brunswick, Canada. I'm a grad student in archaeology, and I have a family. I'm also one of the rare people who is not making a threepio for trooping in, but rather just for my own enjoyment of the challenge, and to have something to display when done. Actually, I intend to build a collection of all the major SW "helmets". Have done Vader, and am working on Boba and a Red Guard now - along with my 3P0 head. Got a bunch of others on the back burners too.
There is a lot of great work on this site, and I'm blown away by just about every picture I see of a member in his (or her?) 3P0 suit. Nice to see the tutorials as well. I'm not a 3P0 guru (yet) like many of you, but maybe when I get further into my project I may be able to offer a construction tutorial of my own.
I don't post pics of myself, so instead I will post some pics of my work -
In progress Fett
Full size and 45% scale Vader armour
Almost complete ANH Vader lid
Vader shins - ready for molding
Vader chestbox
Belt boxes
ESB Vader
And one more .... my almost ready to mold 90% scale Vader RotJ
If this is too many pics please let me know and I will edit my post. I don't mean to clog up the boards, I just want to give a sense of what I enjoy doing. I know I will learn a lot from this group. I'm glad DB73 tipped me off to the site!!
