Re: Introduce Yourself!
Thanks Brad and Goldenrod.
If the weather was better I would have some picts up already, but I'll be sure to document my process.
The cool thing will be the plating b/c I'm planning to drive it down to so cal and take some photos..
Could not be happier to be here.. as long as you don't mind all my questions.....
Thanks!
John

Re: Introduce Yourself!
Hello!! My name is Ian Martin, I am 20 years old and a member of the So. California Garrison. I have been collecting Star Wars 'stuff' since '99.
I work full time at a real estate association and spend most of my money of Star Wars and traveling. I love to travel! Last year I went to Ireland, and I just got back from New Zealand! (I even met a 501st member there)
I have a TK, TB, and a Boushh. All of which I paid for and constructed. My girlfriend usually sports the Boushh, and my brother the Scout.
My next project is a 3po! I'm so excited to start working on it. I think I will be able to fit into it too, I'm about 5'8" - 5'9", 140lbs, 30" waist. I will be placing the order for a full Chris suit in a couple weeks hopefully (assuming they are still available). You all seem so helpful, It will be great being a part of this community.

Re: Introduce Yourself!
Hi Ian, you're the perfect size - Right about the same size as Anthony Daniels! You'll fit the suit easy. Great to have you here.
The parts are still available whenever you're ready.

Re: Introduce Yourself!
Nice to have another 3po fan aboard! TK409 is right you are the right size. And the kit is fantastic! What you can do while your waiting for your new 3po suit is locate the rubber belly section. Found mine at Home Depot in rubber mat department. They'll cut as much as you need. Also you need to locate some thin black gloves and black dive skin like the the TKs wear. You'll also need to get the eyes grills/lighting kit. That can be found listed in the parts thread. Theres hopefully gonna be another run of these very soon.
Its a link to the RPF to sign up for them. If your not a RPF member i'll see if i can get Moncal to list the run over here as well

Re: Introduce Yourself!
Thanks for the great advice! I will agree, It would be nice to have all that worked out before I get the armor.
I've had some dealings with Moncal in the past and I just recently asked about his helmet, he mentioned the eye grills/lights. They look fantastic (Which I suppose is to be expected of him). Am I to assume that the TK-409 helmet 'kit' does not include grills and lenses then?
Great to hear I'm a good size! However.. I suppose I have big feet, I'm size 10.5 and I have noticed that all the shoes are up to size 9.
Thanks for your hospitality! I hope I'm not posting this all in the wrong place.
I can tell this is going to be a blast.

Re: Introduce Yourself!
Hi All,
Just a quick post to say hi and to introduce myself.
My name is Kieran Thomas, and I live in Didcot, Oxfordshire.
I recently joined the UKG as a TK (TK2262) and am loving every minute of it!
Trouble is, I've now got the costuming bug, and so really want to have a go at creating a wearable C3P0.
We've just moved house, and have a little one on the way, and have a 3 year old daughter... so unlike my TK which I really wanted to get ready as quickly as possible, I'm planning on taking my C3P0 much more leisurely and really enjoying the whole experience.
If anyone has got any pointers, tips of where to start, then I'd really appreciate it!
Thanks
Kieran
