*Official* Shorts Thread

When Don Bies was at SW weekends at Disney he brought with him a Empire R2 and also a C-3po. The did a test fitting go out in the park. But this guys arms were too long. And they couldn't find anyone else.
I've got a few more. I love this one. Showing how the leg goes together.
I know that the fronts of the legs are attached together all the time. And I know the lower legs had this hinge pin went. I'm not sure if its still done this way on the newer suits.

I just added an official explanation from Don Bies in the Knee thread
This is info on the pelvis/shorts from Don Bies:
Shorts
TK: Is it true the shorts after A New Hope were made of rubber? If so, what
kind? Is it latex or silicone or some other compound? Is it also true the
hands and feet are made of the same material?
DB: I believe the New Hope shorts were made from thin
vacuu-formed plastic in two pieces, front and back. They were held up with
a suspender type string or wire. This new mysterious material was in place
since Empire. [molded out of some type of
flexible plastic or urethane that is used on the hands and trunks (shorts)] I know it's roto-molded, as I've seen the metal molds for
the hands. There was a rubber costume made for stunts, but I believe that
was only for Jedi.

Interesting photo of Threepio's shorts in ANH. Previously I understood that his shorts in ANH were vacuformed plastic. I don't know what to make of this photo...

Re: *Official* Shorts Thread
Yes, here's the ANH, 2-piece shorts (looks like vacuformed ABS). Followed by the post-ANH screen-used rubber shorts. After ANH they only used the rubber shorts.

Yes, Eddie takes a while to make them. Try not to get heated with him, just simply ask that he respond to you letting you know the status or your place in line.
