Re: Brass Part Run by Keith
Ok Thanx Chris! Lets give this a shot shall we?
here is the brass part we made
Here is the real deal
Well, would you look at that hehe! I shall now use that tip mate hehee!
Ok, I think it has come time for me to officially state my involvement in this adventure, especially after meeting Chris face to face (and in costume!,.(friggin WOW!) and feeling rather confident that he is above and beyond friend worthy, I shall stateage thisness
I obtained a rather nice 3P0 statue about a year or two ago,..its really neat, not as neat as a costume but my dumpy butt would never fit, I am too short and too round (like R2 hehe) SO,...I got this statue, its in pieces and can be made really nice,.I plan to go with the episode 2 version and be happy in my desire for everybody's neurotic wonderful droid, fluent in over six million forms of communication!! :
When I got his white seperatedness I was sad to find that the greeblies that came with it were nasty, unusable crap so,..Since I have been a member of the R2builders for a long while now I am familiar with part runs and machine shops, doing at least 3 metal runs for that club BEFORE coming here. So, I worked with several good friends who are part of my rebel alliance to get some very good, very well CAD drawn plans by people who KNEW the dems or could easily decifer the accurate dementions based off of what VERIFIED parts we had. You can do that kinda stuff if your well versed in CAD like Jerry is. We do these together, we both have footwork in it, Brought to you by droid lovers who care
My mission involvement is this,..I am making ONE set of EVERYTHING greeblie wise on 3P0 for my own prop. Or at least that is the goal, I beleive Jerry is I beleive sending the files to Chris for the state of archival pourposes so that builders who missed these runs can work together to start thier own runs. There are alot of R2guys here who know how that process works. Some of them Know Jerry as well as myself I am sure. Its not that I am doing these runs as a business venture, I am only doing them once because thats all I need to make my super bombad 3P0 statue, coause I love the guy and have got to have him stand next to my R2 props.
So thats why I am only doing them one time myself personally, after that anybody can use the files as they get made, Jerry is very bloody kewl like that
-So,..I plan (if this is of course kewl) promoting and working with you fine fellows to accomplish dreams, mine and yours, were all in this thing together right!

Re: Brass Part Run by Keith
That's awesome Keith. You and Jerry are great for doing this. I resized your image and placed it in the blueprints directory for our archives. It's so good of you to offer this to other builders and for future generations by providing the blueprints. Thank you again very much.

Re: Brass Part Run by Keith
Hey darkjedi, anxiously watching the mail for the c3po parts, yippeee. Thanks for your efforts, you too jerry!i would vote for the next part to be under forearm greeblies that look like 2 coils connected.or working piston assemblies, although I would wager they will be pricey and i wouldnt mind waiting a while longer for those.Always more time for playing with things in the winter season for me.centaur

Re: Brass Part Run by Keith
Thanx for the input! I think what we plan to do is kinda knock out the small stuff first but who knows, we need to make the numbers happen on these so it may be a while but we are currently discussing whats next, your input is greatly appreciated, not to diss on anybody but since russ did those knee pistons, there isnt much demand for them, I will wait because I personally want a more accurate set so this one is going to be out until there will be more demand, and if russ keeps offering his, it could be a while before we do them. Please guys, keep sending in requests, there are plenty of arm stuff left for sure, so its most likely going to be an arm detail, but who knows, I think "ear discs" would be kewl also, many of these have been done before, but not as (sorry got to say it) as accurate as they could be. Demand is the main issue, shops will only produce a minimum amount of parts and if we dont get the numbers, well, the run does not happen.
keep them coming!
NOW ON TO EVEN GREATER NEWS, I HAVE SENT EVERYBODY EMAILS AS I HAVE FINISHED THIS RUN OFFICIALLY TODAY! ALL ORDERS HAVE SHIPPED SO PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHEN YOU FOLKS HAVE THESE IN HAND, AS ALWAYS< THANX FOR THE FAITH AND THANX FOR PLAYING

Re: Brass Part Run by Keith
Well i need some hand pistons and a new neck detail would be great. You know the small circle just under the neck ring.
The one on the kit is inaccurate and sets to low.
The only pieces i would go for is are those 2 really, as i don't see a need to replace the details that come with the Tk409 kit, unless you just want to have metal parts here and there. I'm not trying to rain on the parade but no one will know except the one building it once been its chromed or painted.
Just my 2 1/2 cents.
--- Hes out there right now... and i've got go work.

Re: Brass Part Run by Keith
Hi mate!
The chest "nipples" are actually just pop rivets mate thats all. Unless you mean the tiny cone shaped thing in which there is only one, I have found what I think may have been the origional in the plumbing section believe it or not at my local true value, I need to go in and purchase that just to see but if it is, I could easily cast that thing if resin ones would be ok, What we are really trying to accomplish is those parts that have some difficulty in obtaining.
