Re: Styrene 3PO Head Assembly

When i received vacc head (from Jim), Eyes was too big. I sanded for put the good size.
Later, i bought brass eyes to Moncal. I took eyes size 1½ style.
If you don't sanded. I think it's a zorg style (it's the size of eyes of my fiberglass head of c3po to Jim).

So, my method...
I put a Painter's Masking Tape, front the helmet (for protected)
Image
I put 3 drop of glue (just for it to hold temporarily)
when the glue is dry, I applied the fiberglass resine (little), and i put the fiberglass. I did it 2 times.

After, i used bondo around eyes for finish in front.

Re: Styrene 3PO Head Assembly

Hey everyone. I got the styrene kit from Starbuckcylon. It looks great. I am trying to figure out something. Does the horseshoe get attached inside the rear section of the helmet, or does it butt up against the rear section it before filling in gaps with putty. It seems like I could make it work either way but want to do it right.

If I put it inside, it seems like I can glue it with some pretty good stability, but if it butts up against, then I am looking for some ideas on how to attach it before putty is applies. Thanks.

I have my build process up on my Facebook page. (Feel free to send me a friend request if you're on FB)

http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10200219870372334.1073741825.1619595182&type=1

I want to than everyone who has tutorials out there. So far I've used a couple of ideas and even came up with a few of my own.

And thank you to TK409 for the awesome photo gallery you put together. They are all really helping from having to search screen shots.

I was gonna use the LED's supplied with the kit I bought but decided to try the rice lights first.

Hey Mike, I just added you so I can watch your build. I've got an album up as well and might do a few videos as I figure things out (though don't expect anything nearly to the skill level of Mr. Tarpley, lol)

Excellent, I look forward to watching your build as well. I planned on spreading my build out over a couple of years but maybe I will be more motivated watching someone elses progress. emoticon
