All Torso Mods!

Been doing loads of work to my torso and wanted to share the progress...

I found a few threads covering specific mods but I couldn't find a thread cover ALL torso mods, so, here we go!

Please feel free to add to this if you have some custom bits or good ideas. We want to see!

More details on this mess soon...

where did you get voice amp or is just a normal voice amp to make your voice louder.I have to say it's a really good way of putting it somewhere.

Re: All Torso Mods!

It's one of THESE

I'm using the 16w version and it's crazy loud. WAY more than needed. I'm actually using a smaller speaker for it and it's still really loud. A lower powered version would be fine i'm sure. and probably a bit smaller electronics inside I would guess.

I can't take full credit for the idea. I planned on having a voice amp since day one, but the speaker placement was inspired by Bartlett.
The mounting setup is something I had in mind but initially I was going to have the speaker in the back but now it's up front. Sounds pretty good. Initially everything was going to be in the back. I hadn't thought about removing the back panel until I saw Mr.Tea's build.
Looks like most folks are taking the back off and leaving an opening but I added a panel to mount the electronics to. seems easier for a handler.

There isn't much room at the front in the mask for the speaker I imagine,I'm going to be cutting my back panel in the next couple of weeks, the panel you put in was it all fiberglass or hard plastic. Thanks

Actually, the speaker is going in the front of the torso!

I modeled a new center for the belly disk

Holes were added to the design and I made the front very thin to allow for better sound.
The speaker mounts right behind it. Sound is good and there's nothing else in the helmet to suck up space.

(just sitting over the hole, will be completing installation this week.)

Thanks for sharing Gordon! I myself, have no choice but to put the speakers on my back, I barely got room for the cables from the front emoticon

I got a really small speaker for the front. I'd bet you could make one work.

The video in my newest blog update shows the speaker I'm using.
